OUR   PRINCIPAL

Kia Ora,

My name is Anna Voyce, and I am fortunate to be Tumuaki/Principal of Otaua School.

We are a rural school located just ten minutes from Waiuku, a place where tamariki are encouraged to strive for excellence in everything they do.

Our curriculum is rich in content and delivery. Our team of teachers and teacher aides are focused on identifying exactly what our students have already mastered in their learning, identifying their gaps and then building effective learning programmes based on this information.  Our learning programmes are purposeful for our children, their maturation and readiness. We consistently monitor progress, which means our learning programmes are flexible.

At Otaua, we understand that long-term success is built on broader qualities and values. Our Otaua Values (Citizenship, Respect,  Fairness and Trustworthiness) are the foundations of such qualities. These dispositions are developed over time and immersed through our programmes. They form the basis of everyday life at our school and are a support for children to lean on when navigating their way through the learning process.

I hope you enjoy exploring our website to learn more about Otaua School and the type of learning your child will experience.  However, nothing can match the experience of actually seeing and feeling for yourself the warmth and friendliness of our school. I would be delighted to meet you, give you a tour, introduce you to our team and our children, and to show you what makes Otaua School the special place we believe it to be.
